***A Note from our Pistol Director***
Spring is on the way and we’re looking forward to the start of our 2019 season. Both ICORE and USPSA will start in March weather permitting. ICORE 3rd Sunday - USPSA 4th Sunday
As always, we encourage club members to come out and try our competitions. It will open up a whole new world of shooting to you. Beware though, it can be very addicting! See below for more match details!
We usually have a very friendly group of shooters who are always willing to help out the newcomers. And thank you all for your support - Bob Powell
Springfield Sportsman's Club Pistol area currently has 6 Pistol Pits with ranges under cover for your shooting enjoyment. Our Pistol pits are great for the new and inexperienced shooters learning proper gun safety as they are private as opposed to an open firing line.
We are constantly working to improve the pistol pits for general membership use and for hosting competitions. If you have any suggestions for improvements you’d like to see, let us know through the contact page!
There is NO Rifle or Shotgun use allow on the Pistol ranges without prior approval from the Pistol Director or Club President. Both can be contacted here.
Please note that Rimfire 22 Rifles are permitted in the Pistol Pits. These rifles are a great way to introduce new shooters to proper gun safety!
Please bring your own targets and stands and be sure to clean up after you finish. No shooting of rocks permitted and all bullets must impact berms.
ICORE - Revolver only competition held on the 3rd Sunday of every month March thru November
Springfield Sportsman's Club Hosts the Mass Action Wheel Gunners. This is our home league and we welcome anyone that would like to try some action shooting with their revolver.
Our typical match is 6 courses of fire with approximately 150 rounds required. Match fee is $25. We encourage registration through Practiscore online but we do take walk ins the morning of the match.
If you want to see what it's about before jumping in, we welcome spectators. Please bring appropriate eye and ear protection and you can watch shooters navigate the courses of fire. We have a very friendly group of shooters who will be more than willing to answer any questions you have.
Check-in is at 9:30a.m. and shooting starts at 10:00a.m.
You need a suitable holster and at least 6 speedloaders or moonclips with holders. More is better.
